SOUND & VISION Festival - Wharfedale

What can you expect to see from Wharfedale at the upcoming SOUND & VISION Festival at AudioTrends, Melbourne May 29th - 31st?

In STUDIO 7 at the Sound & Vision Festival, Wharfedale will unveil the latest version of its Diamond Series, the all new Diamond 200 Series.

The original Wharfedale Diamond was released in 1982. It was a rear-ported cabinet, just over 5 litres in volume. It held a 3/4” dome tweeter and 4.5” long throw polypropylene mid/bass driver, matched to a very simple but effective crossover design. It's small cabinet and impeccable stereo image meant the original Wharfedale Diamond took the industry by storm, quickly becoming a best-seller and a permanent fixture in the Wharfedale product range.

33 years later, the Diamond 200 series continues the Diamond Series legacy, again setting the bar for what a budget speaker should be. And the industry agrees, presenting the Diamond 200 series with a number awards within weeks of their official launch.

In STUDIO 7 you will be treated to the Diamond 220 bookshelf speaker (What Hi Fi 2014 Awards product of the year in the budget bookshelf category) as well as the Diamond 230 floor standing speaker, again a highly regarded and awarded speaker.

Exceptional speaker matter very little if they are driven by inferior electronics or cabling, and to that effect, the Wharfedale Diamond 230 floor standing speakers will be matched to the Quad Elite Series electronics (from Wharfedale’s sister company, also demonstrating its products in STUDIO 1), while the Diamond 220 bookshelf speakers will be driven by Quad’s latest compact integrated amplifier the Vena.

Both systems will be matched to QED cables and interconnects for the best possible system connections.
