NAD ELECTRONICS C 658 BLUOS STREAMING DAC LANDS IN FEB

First shown at the Melbourne International Hi-Fi Show in October last year, the NAD Electronics C 658 BluOS Streaming DAC will arrive in New Zealand next month.

Combining a Pre-amplifier, DAC, and BluOS streamer into one unit, NAD Electronic's new C 658 BluOS Streaming DAC features the latest tech including BluOS, Bluetooth aptX HD, Dirac Live Room Correction, and NAD's Modular Design Construction.

Dirac Live is emerging as the people's choice when it comes to DSP and room correction software. Dirac Live allows you to optimise the sound specifically for your room in regards to speaker placement and room acoustics. The unit comes with the Lite version of the software; however, the full-featured version can be purchased for USD 99, which unlocks additional features.

Thanks to the modular construction, there's also an optional HDMI 4K switcher module which will allow the best sound from any of the many HDMI sources available (like game consoles and video STBs).

Also included is what NAD says is "a highly sophisticated MM Phono input is also included along with line inputs for legacy analogue components."

MQA decoding is available on all digital inputs in addition to BluOS streaming content. The C 658 is pure high resolution from input to output and features NAD’s Direct Digital 35 bit 844kHz DAC with its 130dB dynamic range and incredibly low jitter spec.

Greg Stidsen, NAD’s Chief Technology Officer, told StereoNET:

The C 658 combines the best of all worlds in that it is a high-performance preamplifier and streaming DAC with the most compelling digital technologies such as BluOS, MQA, Bluetooth aptX HD and Dirac Live,

The extraordinary performance and advanced technologies of the C 658 make it the ideal choice for someone who demands state-of-the-art performance with the most desirable features yet appreciates a single chassis with ease of operation. MDC then helps protect their investment for years to come.

The NAD C 658 will be available in February 2019 and will sell for $3,499 RRP.
