Bowers & Wilkins Announces 16 Channel CDA-16 Amplifier

Bowers & Wilkins has announced an all-new 16-channel amplifier for integration and distributed audio applications.
The CDA-16 distribution power amplifier can power up to eight individual rooms in your home with high-quality stereo sound, all from one elegant and compact component.
Shipping worldwide this month, B&W says the CDA-16 has been specifically engineered to work with any of its existing custom installation speakers, but we assume it will work with all speakers from any brand too.
The compact 1U rack sized design is compact but will offer 50W to each of its 16 channels (8ohm), rising to 100W with 4ohm speakers with Class D topology. It can also be bridged for 200W (8ohm) for higher power but fewer channel requirements.
Connections are made via eight pairs of RCA phono inputs for line-level analogue connection, along with the clever option to use just one set of inputs as a ‘global’ connection that shares the same signal across all outputs.
The Bowers & Wilkins CDA-16 will sell in Australia for $3,299 RRP and be available from May 1st 2021.
