mikey d
Hi all, I am hoping to receive my new full hi-def LED tv soon. It will be connected to a HDD DVD recorder/player. My tv source is an Austar box and a free to air satellite decoder. The decoders basically only have analogue outputs & the DVD recorder/player only has analogue inputs but component & HDMI outputs. Q1.-Can I run component or HDMI outputs to the new tv from the DVD player to watch satellite tv, given that the signal to it is analogue? The DVD recorder/player upscales to 1080i. Q2.-I run the audio through a 2 channel analogue amp to stereo speakers (broadcast audio quality is fantastic). If I can run a HDMI cable from DVD recorder/player to the tv will I still be able to use the analogue outputs to the amp with the tv audio on mute? I don't want to buy expensive HDMI or component cables if the won't work. Would appreciate an words of wisdom please, cheers.
Batty
If you can get to MSY, you can pick up a cheap HDMI cable for about $10 and give it a go, nothing ventured nothing gained.
